David Edge was the licensed victualler in charge of
the Bell Inn during the 1860's and 1870's. Born
in Rowley Regis in 1825, David Edge spent his teenage years living next
to the Gunbarrel Works in Hayseech near Haden Hill. Along with his
Birmingham-born wife Elizabeth, he had previously run
The Queenin Bordesley's
Adderley Street.
Life for this pub started as a temporary hut, the licence for which was
taken from the
Adderley Arms Inn in Bordesley's Adderley Street, a pub that had
closed during World War Two.
Opening in 1962, the licence for this pub was taken from the
