Located in Northfield Road, the Britannia Inn has a beer "fame to claim" in that
it was the first pub to be managed by Edwin and Lucy Holden, the couple who
later founded
Holden's Brewery at
Woodsetton. Prior to this, another publican,
Elijah Bywater, acquired the nearby Primrose Hill Brewery in 1896.
