"About 10.32 p.m. on Saturday a private saloon car going along Hockley Hill in the direction of the city knocked down and seriously injured a cyclist, Harry Lane [16], of Summer Lane, Birmingham. The car did not stop. Lane is in Dudley Road Hospital. Any person who witnessed the accident or can give any information respecting the car concerned is asked to communicate with Superintendent Buckley at Kenyon Street Police Station."
