More information on the Bell Hotel on James Watt Street to follow. I probably created the page as I had a link to the Bell Hotel from another page. When building the site it is easier to place links as they crop up rather than go back later on. I realise this is frustrating if you were specifically looking for information on the Bell Hotel. In the meantime I have included a photograph of the public-house. There is information on Birmingham dotted around the website - click here for a suitable starting place.

Birmingham : Advertisement for the Carpenters' Arms and Bell Hotel operated by George Rotton [1886]

George Rotton was licensee of the Carpenters' Arms on Adelaide Street in 1874 and, buoyed by his success, took over the Bell Hotel too. I suspect that he possibly overstretched himself for he seemingly downsized in later years.

When this place closed the licence was transferred to the Albany Hotel on Smallbrook Queensway.
