Some history on Windsor Street at Duddeston in Birmingham in the County of Warwickshire
More information on Windsor Street to follow. I probably created the page as I had a link to Windsor Street from another page. When building the site it is easier to place links as they crop up rather than go back later on. I realise this is frustrating if you were specifically looking for information on Windsor Street. There is information on Birmingham dotted around the website - click here for a suitable starting place.

Although this photograph shows housing on the Ashted Estate, I am not sure of the exact location as the plate is not labelled. As I have not got a nice old photograph of Windsor Street I have slotted it in here as it is typical of the type of housing that once lined the streets of Ashted. What a crime it was that this collection of lovely buildings were demolished. But that is Birmingham for you - the city's planners are guilty of crimes against architecture on a mass scale. Liverpool saved their Georgian buildings and now they form part of a delightful quarter in the city where it is a joy to wander around the streets. But not in Brum where they continually replace the aesthetically pleasing cityscape with nothing but a pile of shit. Anybody who has been a decision-maker in the planning department over the last fifty years needs tying to the Iron Man and publicly .... to death!
