More information on Ashbourne to follow. I probably created the page as I had a link to Ashbourne from another page. When building the site it is easier to place links as they crop up rather than go back later on. I realise this is frustrating if you were specifically looking for information on Ashbourne. There is information on Derbyshire dotted around the website - click here for a suitable starting place.

"Joseph Yeomans, cattle drover, of 8, Lodge Avenue, Ashbourne, was summoned for being drunk at Ashbourne on July 29th. Constable Wetton told the bench that he found the defendant lying helplessly drunk in a cattle pen at the Cattle Market. He was taken home in a cattle truck. Defendant said it was a hot day, and he had been running, and he had a "drop of beer." He was sorry, and he promised it would not occur again. The case was dismissed on payment of 4s. costs."
