Photographs, Negatives, Slides and Plates of Weddings
This bride is all ready for the big occasion and seems to be sitting in the function room or club room of a public-house. It is in the East End of London but the exact location is not known. She looks quite calm but she was possibly a bag of nerves.
The bride and groom inside their limousine following their wedding ceremony at Clapton Park Congregational Chapel in June 1959. This building was erected between 1869-71 and is regarded as one of the finest non-conformist buildings in London. Featuring a distinctive Round Chapel, the church stands on the corner of Lower Clapton Road and Powerscroft Road. The couple are Herbert Francis Brunker and Sylvia Mary Wiggett. The daughter of Charles Wiggett and Florence Whiting, she was born in 1937. Herbert Brunker was born in Islington on May 5th 1932 and had previously married Barbara Singfield in 1955. In later years the Brunkers lived in Kent.
