More information on Atherstone to follow. I probably created the page as I had a link to Atherstone from another page. "James Payne, hatter, Atherstone, was summoned for having been drunk in Long Street, Atherstone, on March 28th. Sergeant Flockton
stated the facts, and a fine of 5s. and 6s. costs was imposed. George Shilton, miner, Athertone, was summoned for having been drunk and disorderly on Arden Hill,
Atherstone, on March 12th. P.C. Johnson said defendant was using most filthy language, and there were a lot of children about at the time. Fined 5s. and costs, 6s. 6d.
Samuel Grubb, labourer, Atherstone, was summoned for a similar offence in Long Street, on March 24th. P.C. Penney said defendant was very drunk, and when he
went home he turned his wife out into the rain for three-quarters of an hour. Fined 5s."
